November 17, 2009 Restaurant Power Rankings

November 17, 2009

Welcome to Week 2 of the Power Rankings.  A little bit of movement based upon the compelling arguments made in response to the initial rankings and some return visits to a few of the places listed.  Had a great brunch at Michael’s Genuine (#2) on Sunday but it still couldn’t grab the top spot from NAOE.  That reminds me, I’ve got to get back to NAOE soon.  Had an excellent overall meal at Urbanite Bistro on Wednesday night.  The appetizer didn’t blow me away (some sort of spicy hamachi dish with thinly sliced apples on top, among other flavors) but the entree (duck breast with cinnamon-dusted persimmons on top and Israeli couscous) was really awesome and the dessert (pumpkin bread pudding) cause a mini-riot at the table, it was that good.  Therefore, Urbanite makes the list, knocking off The Daily (which I still have much love for).  Anyhow, without further ado…

Yes! Knock Pacific Time off this list.

And Michael’s should have been first, if just for the grits.
