January 5, 2010 Power Rankings

January 5, 2010

Here’s to a new year.  My new year’s resolution: to try to give every restaurant in Miami a fair shake, to not judge too quickly because you never know if they might be having an off night or the opening night jitters or the sous chef is out sick or whatever the reason might be.  In other words, if I’m going to criticize a place, the goal is that it be both constructive and thought out, rather than off-the-cuff.  After all, each restaurant is the culmination of many people’s passion, treasure, and dedication.  Without further ado…

Just moved down to miami from Palm Beach-nice to find passion for the craft of cooking. I am the new chef of Gibraltar at Grove Isle, and we are finally finding our way (getting there anyway). Would love you to come by and let me know what you think-hope to see you soon

Thanks for checking out the blog, chef. After seeing the wave of press when you first opened, I dined at your restaurant a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the meal. The appetizers were out of this world (smoked salmon loin was awesome, just a great dish; pumpkin tortellini too). I’m looking forward to going back soon. Welcome to Miami.
