Stephen Starr To Open Restaurant In Bal Harbour In January 2011

June 30, 2010

Philly-based restaurateur Stephen Starr, owner of a whole bunch of restaurants (including Buddakan and Morimoto in Philly/NY and Steak 954 in Ft. Lauderdale), is opening “a new Japanese concept” in Bal Harbour in January 2011, according to a few new job posts on Craigslist.  To be honest, I was kind of hoping for a Steak 305 to open since the name would denote both the area code and the 305th steakhouse to open in Miami.

This Japanese “concept” (I wonder how that differs from a “restaurant”) promises to be “high profile, both in location and design.”  And the restaurant will seat 200 and will cost $7 million to build.

Ever since Miami’s other “high profile” “concept” restaurants closed, we’ve been sorely lacking “high profile” “concept” restaurants.  Looking forward to filling that void once and for all.
