July 6, 2010 Power Rankings

July 6, 2010

I’m having an internal debate about whether the power rankings should be posted weekly (as they are now) or monthly, especially given that they haven’t changed for the last two cycles.  But I’m leaning towards keeping things as they are.  The worst side effect of a weekly posting is that you glance at this post, see that nothing has changed, and go about your day.  It’s not that oppressive, in other words.  So for now, we’re sticking with weekly.  The benefits are that it makes the rankings more nimble (if I have an epiphany on July 2nd, for example, I don’t want to wait until August 1st to share it with you).

In other news, MRPR scooped the rest of the new media with news of Stephen Starr’s forthcoming restaurant in Bal Harbour.  Short Order did provide some news as to the location: the Bal Harbour Shops.  Given that Starr’s other entry into South Florida, Steak 954, features a giant tank of neon jellyfish, I expect that this restaurant will feature sea monkeys tripping on acid.  I will settle for nothing less.
