    I know I am not a foodie, but since you aren’t either I guess I can venture a comment. I think ambiance, service, and plain old sticking to what you are good at should count, and if so then much-maligned Casa Tua should at least get an honorable mention…

    Matt, thanks for the comment. As will become a trend on this blog, I’ll actually admit with much embarrassment that I’ve never been to Casa Tua. So their exclusion from the list can only be chalked up to that, at least for now.
    I’ll also admit though that I usually am willing to be abused by servers so long as there is good food to be eaten. So I usually undervalue service (see, e.g., Red Light at #3). But I definitely need to get over to Casa Tua, among other places.

    Yes, safe assumption. The list right now includes Casa Tua, Talula, Palme D’Or. And I’m sure there will be others that I’ll add to that list but hopefully I’ll start to chip away.

    Trina: You raise a good point. I’m going to put up a post soon about the methodology (short version: there is none; the website was hatched as a response to many friends asking advice on where to dine so it really is just one person’s opinion answering that particular question). I’ll also try to spell out my biases so you can see what I weigh more or less heavily (preview: having grown up in Miami, I gave up on service a long time ago. So I don’t really value that unless the service is so abysmal that it gets in the way of the food). Anyhow, thanks for checking out the blog and I’ll post more indepth thoughts shortly. Also, I’ll occasionally post “guest power rankings” and am always looking for folks willing to share their top 10 list with the blog.

    Nice site…I cant wait to try some of the places that have not made my own list.

    May I suggest my fave spanish Tapas/Catalonian restaurant, recently moved to a larger location as the lines were always out the door.
